I buy the ready made stuff. It's called Carnation Caramel and is next to the ordinary carnation on the supermarket shelf.

thanks, spudqueen. Unfortunately, i've already made the stuff now! It was for a function tomorrow, but has now been cancelled. x
The secret is to get a tin of condensed milk , or 3.Put in a pan of water and boil the water for an hour to an hour and a half.
When ready the tin can be stored in a cupboard until its needed as the tin is still closed and is airtight.

When you want to use it make a base of digestive biscuits like for a cheesecake , then open the tin and spread on top. cut a banana into slices and spread over the top of the toffee and ten when ready to use then add a topping of uht spray cream and top with chocolate sprinkles and a drizzle of chocolate sauce too.

This is the best banoffee ever btw
Would it need to be frozen? It's just like a soft toffee so would it not just "keep" in the fridge? I'm not sure how it would react if it was frozen.
