Funney kind of question i know but i'm curious as to how much a west end performer would get paid, it's one of those things that's so hard to find out so i figured someone must know! Thanks
Would it not depend who they are, the role they are playing, and the show they are appearing in? I imagine there are vast differences in the wages of west end performers. Much like the earnings of Hollywood film actors.
buy a copy of the Stage magazine, and look at the job adverts. might give you an indication, but as elginred says I rather think this would vary hugely depending on the size of the production, length of the run, fame of the actor etc etc
A couple of years ago when I worked alongside one of Kenwright's touring shows, one of the lead actors (not a known name) was looking forward to a supporting role in one of the company's West End shows. I think he said he was looking at somewhere in the region of 300 per week pre tax, just a little more than he was earning for the touring show.
Its dependent on the show and usually how well known the actor is. I have an old uni buddy who is a "jobbing" actor who says his pay is 350 to 400 per week when he does 6 shows. The stars usually get a fixed fee rather than a weekly wage.
