Hi, my dad has been sluring his words since last summer after a dose of blood presure tablets. his sluring has got gradully worse and now i can hardly understand him. this is of course upsetting to me, ive also noticed he has lost abit of weight aswell, and my mum has mentioned his nose is blocked alot of the time and he has trouble if hes eating and coffs and chokes. he has an appointment tomorrow afternoon with a neurologist at the hospital. can anyone explain these symptoms before we hear the worst at the hospital.

I think that your last sentence reflects your innermost thoughts and at a guess would say that those thoughts are correct. Wait until you see the Neurologist but prepare yourself for the worse. I think that you already have the correct diagnosis in mind.
My uncle had motor neurone disease and the symptoms were very similar to those you have described with your father. Is this the first time you have seen a doctor about this?

I wish you the very best of luck tomorrow. xxx
