Sycamore tree stump - how old?

I have an old sycamore tree stump at the bottom of my garden, I need to find out roughly how old it is, the rings are difficult to count as it is very weathered, is there a way of finding out who old it is by measuring the trunk? if you have any idea I would love to hear from you.

not easy especially from a stump. You could estimate if it was still alive. Can you cut a section off the top of the stump to reveal cleaner wood which would have clearer rings?
