Now that autmn beckons especially here in Scotland, how can I care for and make sure my Orchid survives the winter in laymen's terms please.. The warmest area in the house during the winter months is in the kitchen oevr the hot water tank facing east lowest temp, probably around 16 degrees on a good winter. What is the cheapestr and best plat food to feed my little flora?

I'm getting worried that all you Orchid nurds out there are asleep give me a sign!!
You say "facing east", is that in a window or to a wall? Assuming it is a window, that position will be fine. the temperature may be a little on the low side but I have experienced lower internals(down to 12c.) and, keeping the watering to a minimum everything has gone well.I'm referring to the phalaenopsis and masoniana - I don't feed mine.
