I have a Nokia 3100 handset, using the Tesco pre-pay tariff (using O2's network). The handset should work in Canada as it is triband, but Tesco support tell me that they don't yet have a roaming agreement with Canada so it may not work. Has anyone successfully used their mobile in Canada, using the Tesco tariff?

Tesco Mobile doesnt have a roaming agreement with Canada (theres a list of countries at http://www.tescomobile.com/help/guideMost1.aspx) - so I dont know why they told you "it may not work", because obviously it "will not work" on Tesco Mobile. If your phone is sim-locked (it probably is if you bought it in Tesco, and you have a Tesco Mobile logo on the phone) then you need to ask Tesco Mobile if your phone can be unlocked to use on a different network. If its not simlocked, theres no problem, just get a sim card for a different network and away you go. You can even transfer your old number to the new network.
