i have a well established yukka plant in my garden and noticed today while in the garden that between the leaves there is lots of sticky gooey residue , the leaves also seem to be drained of their usual green healthy colour...with several leaves showing a few brown spots .
I live in plymouth and have had lots of rain over the last few weeks .....any ideas of causes or soloutions please ? They will be greatly recieved .
many thanks sharon
You don't say what colour the sticky stuff is. Could it be rot, due to the hot, cold, wet, dry nature of the weather recently?
Or attack by insects like greenfly?
Have a look at the answers below in the link when I had a similar problem last year. I was also told to use warm water with a spot of washing up liquid to clean the leaves .
my solution is drastic saw the plant off 3 inchs from the ground and get rid of it dont keep it anywere near your garden you will find young plants growing around the base
you can give them away by moving away the soil till you see were the plant touches the old plant or you can keep them
