Sleep trouble, now feeling Ill and weak
8 Answers
Hi everyone
When it's time to get up I have no energy and just go back to sleep. It's really messing with me because there's things in the day that need to be done.
When I'm in bed though my eyes are really heavy and it's as if I've not had enough sleep. It's hard to actually move my eyes.
Today I woke up at like 7pm. Right now I feel so weak, my neck/head is aching and I have hardly any energy. I've been missing out going out with friends and going to the gym because of it.
I think it's since the dull and rainy weather. I did/do have a cold, one day I sneezed like 30 times in a row lol.
I wanna get my act together whether it's feeling better or sorting out my sleep.
Any help would be really appreciated.

I'd be even more reluctant to suggest a highly addictive drug, such as diazepam (which is probably better known as 'valium'). However, I think that my own story might be relevant:
Many years ago, when I was at college, I was experiencing real problems getting any meaningful sleep. After over a fortnight with no more than a few minutes 'napping' at a time, I went to the college doctor. He gave me a short course of diazepam. I only took the tablets for two nights but that was enough to 'break the cycle' and return my sleep patterns to normal.
So perhaps something similar might do the trick for you?
Have a word with your doctor. You've got nothing to lose and you might feel far better very quickly.
Chris
PS: Of course, you might actually be suffering from a virus, or even a condition like CFS

(although that's extremely unlikely) but your doctor's definitely the person to ask.

Thanks for your answer Chris. I think you're probably right I should see doctor. I'm more a fan of waiting and saying oh it will go away or using something natural but it's been pretty bad.
I have had like 2 second stomache pains and when I was actually writing this question I struggled to think what to say, even my fingers feel tired.
A few of what I've experienced came up in that link you sent me.
Thanks again.

Are you actually getting a decent amount's sleep (as in for you not what other people think as everyone's different),
How much sleep do you get on average nightly?
I need a lot of sleep and in and in periods when I am not getting enough good sleep I try things like herbal nytol or Boots Sleepeze as a short term solution to try and get my body back on track.
I try to identify things which help me sleep better.
Holidays are a good one as I do so much I end up knackered by the end of the day and sleep really well. So doing things to make you naturally tired by the end of the day can help.
Also, on holiday there's less stress about day to day things like work so I switch off better. So that tells me I need to learn to switch my head off in order to get a better night's sleep.
I sometimes use distraction techniques like having calming music on like classical or music which sets me daydreaming and in a more sleep induced state where my head takes over.
Another one is having Sky News on in the back ground as after a while it becomes very repetitive and my brain switches off and goes into sleep mode.

This is a good answer thank you.
I'm actually going on holiday on Saturday and I agree holidays are great for sorting the sleep out, all the sun and various stuff to do. I guess I've not been keeping busy enough.
I'm feeling better now and not as weak. It was pretty bad earlier when I wrote this.
I wouldn't even call my sleep nightly though it sometimes ends up being the entire day. It will sometimes be more than 8 hours. I know some people have a better time with 4. Anyway I'm sure when I get a job this will force me in to some kind of routine where I have to sleep and am actually tired.
Thanks again Jenna!

You're welcome :)
Thought of another one.
I tend to sleep really well when back home at my parents' place.
Part of it the switch off of being away but also they live in the Shropshire countryside where as I live in Manchester City Centre so it's much darker and quieter which I think helps.
I forget how dark it actually is back there as am so used to being in the city now where it never really gets that dark, I have considered getting thicker, darker lined curtains or a decent blind though.
There is also constant noise around, I don't really notice it so much here but it's a very profound change back in Shropshire. I'm a fresh air freak so have to have a window open and don't like the thought of earplugs so they may be an idea for you.
Another good sleep weekend was staying with friends in Southampton. Again we were out and doing stuff including a great walk round the harbour and beach in pool, sea air is great for it! The bed was also amazing comfortable with the loveliest cosy good qualify duvet, I just didn't want to get out of it!
I actually looked forward to going to bed and I'd take a cuppa, nice milky sweet tea, up before bedtime and just cuddle up and enjoy being so cosy before I went to bed haha :)
I tend to have low blood sugar levels so often find that something sweet helps me if I'm sleepy and grouchy but can't get to sleep. I have a stash of little cookies on hand.

Cool, I live about 20 mins away from Manchester. I love how most people in Manc are so cool and friendly. I don't notice it as much in my home town Altrincham. It's pretty noisy around where I live and there's this dog with this weird bark it never stops lol.
I find when I go out on an actual night out and come home I'm super tired, even if I go easy on the drink. I can go to bed much later and still wake up earlier than I would have if I stayed in.
I appreciate you takin the time to respond Jenna, thank you ;)
