hi,im thinking of visiting london to see phantom of the opera with my elderly mother,the show is on at her majestys theatre can anyone reccomend a good hotel within walking distance to the theatre,thanks very much.

The Strand Palace Hotel has been recommended before by several AB contributors who've stayed there. To get to the theatre from there, it's a half mile walk (along the Strand and across Trafalgar Square):

tripadvisor is very good for reports from people who have stayed in hotels

laterooms / hotels.com / booking.com also have review sections and are good for availabiity and prices

The Cavendish might be a good bet for location, quality and price combined

make sure the Strand Palace is offering en suite, last time my pal booked there it had gone downhill and with no en suite she moved elsewhere, but it could have had a make over since then.
