With the last night of the proms looming next week, do you think it is outdated and stuck in the past. It is symbolic of everything that is wrong with Britain today. It harks back to the empire and glorifies Britains shameful military past.

The flag waving and jingoism of the last night is something that we would expect of a third world republic and not what we would expect of Britain in the 21st century.

Is it time we consigned this awful display of nationalism to the dustbin of history where it belongs.

Mani....lets have some muslim culture (?) hanging by the neck from gantrys.....stone throwing at women by men in burkhas (that's where muslims hide) poke out eyes of readers of Guardian & Islamic papers. We could have background music of the Imam Wailers. The Imams already have a huge fan club at Mecca where the fans throw stones instead of knickers, like our idols get (so v.uncouth).

Well tonights the night and I've decided to compromise. For fear of being accused of being 'jingoistic' or some othert luke-warm word for racist I've decided to drive round and round in an army land rover and loosen off a few AK-47 rounds to the music. I feel this will make me more 'international'
