Has anyone got any good slimming world recipes they can pass on. I get stuck on green days as I don't like pasta or quorn. Ta.

slimming world chips (make as usual then spray with frylite and shove in the oven!). On a green day you can have as many as you like - team up with beans and egg and you can even have bacon as your healthy extra!


There are loads of salads and rices you can make on green days too! Look on the slimming world site - theres loads of ideas!

Have you tried Quorn mince or just some Quorn product like sausages? If you make a chilli or spag bol with the mince you can't even tell it's not meat as the herbs and spices give the flavour. I suprised myself when I had it at a friend's house, I couldn' t tell the difference!

Cabbage and Potato Cakes
(Serves 1)

Green Day Free


Ingredients:-

Fry light
4oz cabbage, cooked and shredded
45g reduced-fat cheddar cheese (healthy extra)
Salt and pepper

Method:-

Mix the mashed potatoes, cabbage and seasoning
Mould into patties
Heat the fry light and add the patties to the pan
Cook until the patties are browned and crispy on each side
Top the upper side with the cheese, and continue cooking until the cheese is just melting
Serve with baked beans
Cheese, Potato and Onion Pie

(Serves 4)

Ingredients:-

2lbs of potatoes, sliced
40g low fat cheddar cheese, grated (healthy extra)
2 large onions
1 � tbsp fresh parsley

Method:-

Part boil the sliced potatoes and onions for approx 15 minutes then drain
Layer the potatoes and onions in a baking dish with � the cheese
Sprinkle on the remaining cheese
Bake in oven at 180 � 20c for 20 � 40 mins until the potatoes are soft and the cheese is golden
Curry In A Hurry
(Serves 4)

Green Day Sin Free

Ingredients:-

cloves garlic
2 grated carrots
Half a cabbage
1 tsp finely grated ginger
1 tbsp hot or medium curry powder
400g tin chopped tomatoes
60ml vegetable stock
2 tbsp sweetener
60g natural yoghurt or Quark/fromage frais
1 tbsp chopped mint
1 tbsp chopped coriander

Method:-

Chop the onions and crush the garlic. Spray a frying pan with Fry Light and place on heat - add the vegetables, onion, garlic, and ginger and fry for one to two minutes before adding curry powder.
Stir and cook for another couple of minutes then add tomatoes, sweetener and stock. Bring to the boil and reduce heat to simmer gently for 12-15 minutes.
Blitz the sauce in a food processor or with a hand blender, and return to heat. Heat gently then add quark/yoghurt/fromage frais and herbs.
Egg Fried Rice (Serves 2)

Green Day

Ingredients:-

Boiled Rice
2 Eggs
Fry light
Cooked peas
Spring Onions
Soy Sauce

Method:-

Boil rice and let it go cold
Place the rice in a wok with fry light and start frying
Add the peas and spring onion (chopped) and continue frying
Whisk the 2 eggs
Slowly add the eggs, stirring continuously
Keep stirring until egg is cooked and serve immediately
