I'm looking to buy myself a personal mp3 player, and I've seen a few in the shops which work with USB (which is what my Mac uses), but how do I find out whether it's going to be compatible with my Mac, or whether it needs Windows? Don't tell me to ask the salesman, by the way, I tried that today and was informed by a 17 year old that my iMAC didn't run the MacOS, but that it actually ran Windows 95.

Hi,

It should tell you on the box if the MP3 player you want to buy works with USB.

If not you should log onto this website:

The site reviews and sells a wide selection of the MP3s on the market and gives details about them, including if they take USB.

Good luck
