Can I run Windows Live Messenger and Skype on the same computer?
Also, I have successfully used headphones with built-in mike for my videocalls, but when I tried using a desktop mike instead, the person at the other end got a lot of noise through their loudspeakers. Any ideas?

Yes you can run both Messenger and Skype on the same computer.

Desktop mics can suffer interference from all sorts of things, and if it is too close to the pc that can have a bad effect on sound
