Years ago I used to have very long hair ..this is back in the sixties .Us girls used to wash our hair with a fourpenny sachet of Sunsilk shampoo rinse it in cold water with vinegar or lemon added and dry it naturally .
There were no conditioners on the market then and we always had shiny hair .All these shampoos and stuff today play havoc with your hair .Well.. that's just my opinion.Believe you me I have tried the lot and that Treseme stuff is awful ,left my hair heavy and greasy . They put so much old rubbish in shampoo these days .
I stick with my old routine these days .Wash in a cheapo shampoo ,( I'm on Superdrug Coconut at the moment ) final rinse in cold water .Don't go down the vinegar route anymore though but use lemon juice every few washes because my hair is coloured .
Thing is we use hairdryers ,straighteners, curling tongs etc and all this marlarkey which play havoc with our hair and dry it out so we need something to put the moisture back Conditioners just coat it and then it's a vicious circle .
An old fashioned remedy to get your hair looking really shiny is an egg ,a tablespoon of honey and two tablespoons of olive oil . Beat it together ,shove it on your bonce .Wrap your head in cling film, leave it for about twenty minutes and then shampoo it out . Result ...shiny happy hair :)
