Craig Meehan, Child Porn on his PC.

As you probably know, Craig Meehan was given a prison sentence today for downloading child porn sites.

Because he had been kept on remand longer than the sentence he was given (released today), would he be able to claim compensation for being locked up for more than his sentence was?

Before anybody starts saying he should be locked up forever etc, this is just a general Q about anybody kept on remand.
