Surely the 'New Editor' has made his first mistake.

Why introduce himself by posting in Chatterbank when there are no doubt many users who never venture into this category?More appropriate would have been a post within the AB Editor's Blog section.

I think he has posted on cb because this is where most of the, shall we say, controversy, usually is.

Most other categories are quite well behaved and don't need to feel the presence of an effective ed.

What he's really saying, of course, is 'make the most of the next few days because, when I take over from meak and mild Miss Ed,you're all gonna know about it.......'

About time this site had a strong editor. Some of the more colourful characters will leave or be driven out, but about time too. More room for the genuinely interesting characters like me who look in from time to time and clear off because of the drivel.
