Why has my period not come?!

I ovulated 17 days ago and was expecting to come on on Monday. I have done 2 negative pregnancy tests but there is still no sign of a period. I just feel 'normal'. I thought a period always arrived 14 days after ovulation and the only variation in cycles was before ovulation not after. So if this is correct why haven't I? Can tests not pick up the hormone? It would have been 15 days after supposed conception that I last tested.

how do you know you ovulated 17 days ago? Nothng is set in stone when it comes to periods

you can ovulate at any point in your menstraul cycle. Thats why having sex during your period can still end in pregnancy.

Wait a few days and test again, then test every few days until either your period arrives or a positive result. Thats all you can do.

Dont forget that stress (and trying to conceive can be stressfull) can affect cycles.

The tests do pick up on the hormone, but it vcan take up to 3 days for an egg to fertilise after sex, then it will implant and then your body reacts and starts to produce hormone. It could be that there isnt sufficient yet.

I know I ovulated because I know the signs to look out for, the timing of it and I was using ovulation sticks too!! So still no period yet I will just have to keep waiting for it to arrive!

did the ovulation sticks confirm ovulation?

ovulation is Usually about 14 days before period but not always

your right about the signs of ovulation not to be gross but the usual main sign is not so nice discharge which can only be discribed as snot! still could be pregnant tho, you may not feel any different but you can garantee if you do end up with a positive rest the pregnancy symptoms will suddenly be there, isnt the mind a wierd and wonderful thing, like when you cut yoursself (obviously not badly!) but you dont actually realise or feel any pain until you look down and see blood or a bruise you dont feel it until you see a new bruise then it hurts!

yes the sticks did show a line but it wasn't a very clear line. However it was the same strength line as it was the month before and my period came 13-14 days after last month but not this month.
I've just done another test this morning and it is still negative so I don't know whats going on. Its a pain and I wish my body would just go back to normal so I knew where I was.

im about 5mths pregnant and i didnt show a positive test until 6 weeks ago and my mother in law knows someone who didnt show a positive test until she was 7 months go and see your gp as they might have better tests which are more sensitive to the hormone

I did about 10 tests over 2 weeks before I got a positive.
I was convinced I was pregnant, but apparently the hormone is not necessarily picked up all the time.
I would go with your gut feeling. Blood tests are supposed to be more accurate???
