I've more or less finished the right hand half but I'm stuck on the left hand half. I have a feeling that 7d and 3d are doubles???? (Remark about s-s-snake inspiring foreign article in The Thunderer?), possibly doublespeak tho I can't see why. Double s, I can see but what then? At the moment I have ?o? b?e for 7d.

9d A doctor is on team to dissect (9) ending in e.

Yes, Rolf Harris used a wooden wobbleboard, but the clue refers to the typically large metal wobbleboard that used to be crashed around in the theatre to simulate thunder - thus "Thunderer". I expect it's all done with recordings now.
