How to get a sponsor form
Hello.
Does anyone know how my son and his friends can go about getting an official sponsor form for a Cancer Charity. He wants to do a sponsored walk home from school (about 6/7 miles) and thinks he can just knock on doors for people to sponsor him ( on a home made form) and that they will be happy to hand over money and trust him to give the money to charity. Of course at his age (13) he does not see the mistrust this would cause and trying to get through to him that he would need a proper sponsor form is proving difficult.
Any ideas. ??
Thanks

I remember the excitement on my son's face (7 yrs) when he counted up his 6.00 sponsor money. And the disappointment when I explained (again) that he had to hand it all in to school. He brought it back twice, in the hope he might be able to keep it!
Meant to add that I would recommend children only seek sponsorship from friends, relatives & neighbours they know.
Could he put his idea forward at school (school council/class representative?) The next international walk to school week isn't until Oct 3rd, though his school might be interested in organising something sooner - this would be more official.
