returning an item to the shop, definately not fit for purpose sold

hiya

i bought a maybeline mascara, waterproof version on friday from boots.
i applied it on sat morning and went out for the day....
within about 30 mins i had big black smudges all under my eyes... this is definately not fit for the purposes it was sold.
do i have the right to return it in this case?
i dont have the pckaging but dohave the reciept

waterproof and smudge proof are not the same thing.
Maybe you put too much on? was it raining? did your eyes get wet?
you are not giving enough information here......
Take a photo and return goods to manufacturer with photo & complaint.....they'll refund you, in time!

i did not apply too much as only apply a little mascara as i do not like to look like im wearing any but as i have blond eyelashes i have to apply some.

it was not raining, my eyes did not get wet, but there were big black rings under eyes and i looked like stupidly gaunt
