wheres my status bar gone ?

I have noticed in the last couple of days that my status bar has disappeared.
I usually sign on with BT which opens my home page and browser. The taskbar is exactly the same size/position. I think it has something to do with the page size changing, because I notice that the scroll down arrow on the bottom right of the screen has also nearly disappeared from view.
Funnily enough if I log on through internet explorer it is there, so its something to do with the BT browser.....I think.
I have tried to use system restore 3 times for different dates and it looks like it goes through the motions, but reboots saying ' cannot restore system'.
I have a full Norton Internet Security programme so am probably protected, dont think its anything malicious, nothing else points to that.....Im baffled.

Go into the view menu in the BT explorer and ensure that there is a tick by the status bar setting. I wouldn't advise using system restore for such a trivial matter in future,you can cause all sorts of problems that way.

thank you duffy, I have already tried that and there is nothing in the drop down menu that says status bar.

I don't have BT browser but I think there must be somewhere that has a settings link in it??? Why do these companies have to make things so difficult for us? :-)
