I filled out my own self - assesment forms for 2006 - 2007 and sent then to the inland revenue. They declared a small profit. However, there were some expenses that I did not claim. Can I claim them now even though the business is no longer trading.

Thanks

You can amend your self assessment any time until 31 Jan 2009. Can't guarantee the revenue won't question new expenses but it's unlikely if they're modest.
Is that right, Tom? The year in question is 2006-7, not 2007-8.
I assumed that it was the return for 2006-07, which would have had a filing date of 31 January 2008. You have a year after the filing date to amend a self assessment.
Ah, learn something new every day - didn't appreciate one had another 12 months to amend it.
