why do i always start texting girls off my phone when iam intoxicated? why can't i not do this as it is quiet costly and embarrassing?

I think this just means you are human!! I have a tendancy to do this too- not girls, just mates of mine that I fancy!! Alcohol lowers our defenses as well as making us feel more amorous. Unfortunately the person on the receiving end of the text is probably in bed asleep and feeling the exact opposite of you. Why not switch off your phone when you go out drinking and tell whoever you are with to NOT let you text anyone. Or better still, invite the girls with you, and save your texts!

*groan* I do this all the time - either rants at the ex-boyfriend or flirty creepy stuff to random men!!! I have now taken to deleting the numbers of the people i worst offend, i keep it written down elsewhere, but somehow this works - or the ex boyfriends number is now saved in my phone as 'do not text if you've had a drink'!!! I

Don't know what happened there - was going to say virgin mobile are coming up with something where you can bloke certain numbers in your phone when you're going out drinking.

Headtime - cool... I live in Aust and didn't know that.....:-) It would've been great about 2 years ago when a pack of sloshed guys decided that I sounded like I needed to have a conversation with them at 12.15am, then 12.20, 12.40, and so on til about 2am....

Let me tell you how I stopped this from going on until the wee small hours... I diverted my phone number to the local police station!!!! ....didn't hear from them again!!! :-)

As for you not texting people.... give your phone to your mate to hold.....

Why don't you prepare some non-offensive texts while you are sober and save them until you're legless. Perhaps you'll seem less of a ****

Me & my mate had a habit of doing this too... so when we went out, we'd swap mobiles, so we could still get in touch with each other, but couldn't text the guys in question coz a) we didn't have their number & b) it wouldn't have been fair to run up a huge phone bill for the other mate!
