I missed the last half hour of the final programme on Friday evening last week. Having watched the series and not knowing who won is frustrating. Can anyone please tell me what happened in the last half hour?

Yes they all cooked a final 3 course meal. Leon's presentation was excellent and the judges remarked on how much he had improved with that.

It was very close but the title went to Derek.

Thank you squarebear for the quick response. I have searched the BBC website and can find no reference to the programme on Friday evening. Good job the kind folk on the answerbank are around!

I thought Murray was going to win but I don't think the judges were too happy that he didn't want the others to help him in the kitchen when he was cooking for the 30 chefs.

Leon didn't seem too keen on rushing and was too laid back.

Agree with squarebear, don't think Murray's reluctance to have any help helped him!
I think the right chef won. Addictive programme!

I loved this season of Masterchef. Here's a little random trivia for you. derek who won worked in my local burger King until 8months ago! He left there to go work in 'real' kitchens and lo and behold look at him now!

I have to agree, my money was on Derek and I think he was a worthy winner. He has come a long way from a burger bar and I think he has a great future. Good luck to him. Off now to follow squarebear's link. Thanks everone.

Murray was a arrogant prat, excellent chef but thought the title was in the bag,as said he didnt do himself any favours by trying to be a smart arse, the right chap won on merit!!!
