I seem to have got some water inside my favourite watch. Does anyone have any ideas how to get rid of it without breaking it. I can hardly see the face now it's so steamed up. It is still working though.
Can you remove the back? If so remove it and put the watch in a warm dry location until the condensation goes.Warming it with the back on will simply drive the moisture into the works.
Placing the watch in a warm environment (circa 50C) overnight will drive off the moisture, which should escape via the route the water entered the watch.
If the water entry was due to immersing the watch in water, the problem should not return (unless you drop it in water again). If the moisture entered due to normal use you might need to check the condition of the sealing ring on the back plate, which may need replacing.
Try putting it in a bowl of dry rice overnight.
Did it with my cell phone after my daughter dunked it in the toilet....Blasted with blow dryer for over an hour but there was still alot of condensation visible in the screen. Put the phone in a bowl of rice overnight (completely covered in rice) and all the condensation was gone in the am. (Dry white rice--extremely absorbant).
Good luck!
