Some have pate and toast , others melon , others a soup and some have prawn cocktail.
What would you call a traditional starter ?
Prawn cocktail seems popular over maybe last 10 years , maybe more , but before what was the norm ?

I did stuffed mushrooms last year. Quite nice and easy.
Before the norm....I'm not really sure....how far back were you thinking?
Georgian times?.... 60's?

:-)
Smoked salmon or a terrine would be good - both traditional starters.
