I am trying to read this book but I am finding it boring.  Yet I thought it was a hit.  Has anyone else found it boring? or a good read?

Mr Woofgang loved it, I though it was pretentious cack

Life of Pi is a great book....I Loved it.

I loved it but would have to admit it is a little boring at the start. Persist with it - it gets far more fun!
I stuck it through to the end and still found it boring!
It's one of my favourite books - I found it extraordinary!

Loved it.  It is not a "plot-driven" book.  If you prefer more of a traditional "story" with a lot of action or a series of events strung together to illustrate cause-and-effect, this is not the book for you.

I liked the philosophical nature of this novel, Pi's search for a way to accommodate the three major religions in the first part, his search for a way to reconcile human and animal nature throughout.

I thought i liked it, then got to the end and realised that i didn't.
I got it the other way round - I started off thinking it was a poor cousin of Midnight's Children, and ended up thinking it was pretty good. Although Midnight's Children is a vastly better book in every way.
I really liked it.

Hi, I found it very boring in the beginning but then about a quarter of the way through ..... BAM! I was hooked. I think it's worth persevering. Hope that helps!

I enjoyed it, a differnt approach and an interesting idea. got strange towards the end......I bought a copy after reading a friends copy though.

Many thanks for the replies.  I have not worked out the statistics but it does look as if people are evently split between those who liked it and those who did not.  I have just finished reading part 1 and I think it is picking up now (from my point of view).  Thanks again!
