My payroll software expresses the amount not as a rebate but as a different amount of tax levied that week. On the first payday after the 9th sept their tax fell by 53.00. I would imagine that the software will use the new tax codes to predict their tax for the rest of the financial year and alter their tax deductible accordingly. This software is quite expensive and I would hope that they've got it right. if they haven't it will be the first time in some years of use.
I think that maybe your payroll does not use the end of the month as its pay date (not pay day, that can be different), , as everyone in the country with a pay daye as at the end of the month will get the 60 quid.
incidentally - how do you know that the software has never got it wrong?
well I got 60, and had no idea it was coming.
But someone said it was only those in the highest tax brackets - I don't think I am, but still got it.
Yippeee, don't care how or why or what - but I've also seen some rather nice grey leather boots from M&S collection. Am going to order them tomorrow. In one hand,,,, out the other....
