Charcoal Grey Suit

Could anybody tell me if you can get away with a black shirt beneath a charcoal grey suit? I plan to wear it at a wedding.

I would say yes, the shirt will go with the suit... but I'm not sure it's weddingy...??  Spose once you have a tie & corsage thingy it might be...

A black shirt with a charcoal grey suit would go, but not so sure about wearing it to a wedding - mind you, we are in 2005 now!

Chris Tarrant on Who wants to be a Millionaire' always wears dark suits with dark ties & they always look okay on him.

What colour tie were you thinking of wearing with it?

Have to agree with Eeeek mats, love a man in a suit; the darker combo the better (suit that is, thought I'm not averse to a dark man too...) Reckon the tie would have to be as dark as both suit and shirt and defffo not another colour entirely.

Ok so noone agrees with me here, but i would say no. I think the dark shirt thing is very hard to pull off without looking a bit cheap.. And for a wedding something a bit brighter would surely be more appropriate? Wear something happier!

Now thats really thrown the cat amongst the pigeons, the weddings 3 days away and I now feel cheap!!, I chose a dark grey tie as the red was a little 'tarrant-esque'. I think I'll take a lighter alternative shirt and see how I feel on the day.
