Working in USA

Im looking to move to Boston USA for one year, and work in Citizens bank who are owned by my employer RBS group; an internal transfer. Before requesting this, i'd like to know exactly whats involved that i would need to sort out. Any takers?

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.To qualify for an 'L-1' (Intra-company Transferee) visa you "must be at the managerial or executive level, or have specialized knowledge and be destined to a position within the U.S. company at either of these levels, although not necessarily in the same position as held previously".

Otherwise you'd need suitable qualifications, at university degree level, to try to convince the immigration service that your employment satisfies the criteria for a 'speciality occupation' (for which you need a 'H1-B' visa). See here:

You need to be aware that the US authorities frequently take many months to process visa applications, so you should apply as early as possible.
