Could anyone tell me the name or author of the book about the origins of nursery rhymes. It was talked about on The One Show BBC1 last night, but they didn't give any information on it. I emailed the bbc but just got a stock reply - no joy. Would love to read it.

I watched this last night too, and was miffed when they didn't say.

So i'll keep on eye on this post- the book will make a great xmas pressy for someone I know.
I didn't see the show but many people are asking about this book on the website - the suggestion seems to be "Pop Goes the Weasel"...

Thanks gettingblurry. It certainly looks like the book they had in their had - just didn't get a close up to read the title. Thanks again - you're a star.
Excellent- thank you from me too!
this is the classic book on the subject - pretty well every nursery rhyme in the language plus all that's known about their history.
