What do you think about student initiations and drinking?

I didn;t go to uni, but at the time i would have gone, things were far more innocent, so i doubt I'd have been required to take part.

I find them nasty and sinister - the notion of forcing people to join in stupid and potentially harmful 'games' at the risk of being ostracised if they refuse is bullying, pure and simple.

Any university finding this type of thing going on should expel those responsibile, and make it clear that that is the policy, until such stupdity amoung nominally 'intelligent' young people stops.

I wonder how many of the 'initiators' are men?

Its bullying and if thats the way some "adults" think they can behave at uni then they should be shown otherwise.

Do students go to Uni to learn ..
or just a big party for 3 years ??
I know someone who has a student
debt and a degree in Archeology ..
and now works in a pub ...as for
initiations ..I hope they have to clean
up the vomit and mess they leave behind ..
these people are the next generation of ..
bankers ,polictians ,lawyers ....
Not a lot of hope really ...
