We have been away for a few weeks, when we came back and watched the older version of Heartbeat, on ITV3, we found that Claude Jeremiah Greengrass, and Nurse Maggie Bolton, have disappeared. Have they been beamed up, eloped together, or what? Can anyone tell me.

Greengrass left the series in 2000 after a stroke in real life

Maggie Bolton left in 2001, so they didn't leave together.

I can't remember the story lines, although I do remember Greengrass faking his own death

Wasn't it Vernon Scripps ( Geoffrey Hughes) that faked his own death? On the beach. Or did they both leave that way?
I've always watched it but can't remember how Greengrass left.
