you may have broken something if its carrying on this long - what sort of specialist are you seeing? A sprain specialist??!?!
also, it would be much better to wait till monday and ask the specialist that question as 1) she is a specialist and 2) she will have the benefit of being able to examine your foot. I am using 2 crutches at the mo for a LTC and i know what you mean - i cant even bring a cup of tea in from the kitchen!
I did the same as you have a few years ago and I was on crutches for 3 weeks,I had torn the ligaments in my ankle. The swelling, bruising and pain were horrendous.

gosh, cannot imagine being on crutches for 3 weeks, going crazy already. wondered if i would be told to put pressure on it gradually? im seeing an orthopedic doctor, i currently live in the states so everything private but at a cost of course!
whats LTC btw?
long term condition. What is btw? :)
I was told to keep the weight off of my ankle for the whole 3 weeks bubbles to allow it time to heal.I would be prepared to be told similar if I were you! My daughter when she was 7 years old did similar and was in plaster for 6 weeks and my mum when she was in her 60's had plaster on for a sprain.I considered myself lucky to get away with just crutches!
