Any tips for treating badly bruised legs, with the skin ripped off? The doctor has attended to the patient and dressed the wounds, which are clean. The patient puts his legs up and takes pain killers and anti-biotics, wearing loose clothes over the dressing. Although the duvet is light, sleep is fitful because of the wounds and flashbacks. What else can I do, please, to help the healing process and make the patient comfortable?

not a lot really, it sounds like everything is being done. If duvet is a problem a bed cradle could help

bednobs - you've got a very suitable name for this problem!
Depending on the other drugs prescribed, the doctor might prescribe a mild sleeping tablet or tranquilliser in the short term.

Listening to music can help relax the patient, as can the application of lavender spray to the sheets, or perhaps a lavender air freshener in the room.
can you get a frame to hold the bedclothes away from the patients legs?
there will also be a homeopathic treatment for fitful sleep and injury. im sorry, i havent got time to look it up right now, but a good health food store (probably an independant rather than a chain) should be able to help
