British Gas
14 Answers
British Gas kindly sent me 4 energy saving light bulbs yesterday free of charge. How nice of them. I'm not even one of their customers or a home owner as I still live with my mum. I wonder why they sent them to me and not my mum.... Hmmm.
P.S. What a lovely sunny day it is!

the bulbs are to become law in spain in the next 18 months i think.
but they reckon if everyone uses them it will save at least 40% of the electricity thats used.
they will eventually replace ordinary bulbs.
people us etoo much light
can anyone remember when you could get a 40 or even a 25 watt lightbulb?
you still can but who uses them ?

I agree completely SIRandyraven..I have got stocks of ordinary lightbulbs too. These energy saving ones are useless . I flatly refuse to sit in dim lighting .My eyesight is bad enough .
I'm fed up with being told what to do by this government .
They themselves could save an enormous amount of energy if they spouted less hot air .While other countries still pollute and loads of our rubbish is shipped to China to pollute even more why should I sit in the gloom .

I'm not moaning about my electricity bill legend if you took the time to read my post you will see that I said "Gas payments ".
But of course as someone who lives in eighty degrees of heat all year round you don't have to worry about this sort of thing .
I'm not going to argue the toss with you about light bulbs because you will just keep on and on ad infinitum .
I don't like them and that's that as far as I am concerned .

I also received 4 of these lightbulbs from British Gas. Also a few months ago some from Electricity people. But each time they were a mixture of the equivalent of 40W and 60W, much too dim for an ordinary room. I put one, the equivalent of 60W in the toilet but why send 4 near useless ones when they could send, say 2, the equivalent of 100W. I know they will say we should use less electricity, but no way am I going to sit in a dimly lit room with the equivalent of 60W bulb. So these spare "gifts" are just piling up in the cupboard.
