Inconsistency in Eastenders
I know there have been many different writers on Eastenders over the years, but do none of them read up on character profiles and events.
Billy Mitchell for instance wants to adopt Jay and in tonight's episode, Peggy told the social worker, what a great father Billy is.
Does no one remember when Billy's nephew Jamie, (who went on to marry Sonia,) lived will Billy outside of Walford and was physically and verbally abused by him on a regular basis.
It seems moving to Walford gives people personality transplants, for the better. I expect Ronnie's dad Archie will become the perfect, loving father in due course.
I know it's a soap, but there should be some consistency.

But within 12 hours he was back living with his ex and their 4 children and they didnt bat an eyelid??? This guy is not ment to be living with or near children his own or not from social services say so and 12 months on he is still there???Mad or what??
Isn't there the fact, though, that people change. Billy's treatment of his nephew was unforgivable, but he was very unstable then and had reasons (not excuses) for his behaviour. Men can and do change when they become dads, and Billy certainly has. He is a great dad to his own two, taking on and loving his disabled daughter when even her mother rejected her. I don't think he recalls those times with Jamie without a deal of discomfort.
