I don't know wat all the fuss is about with the school exams. Where I come from we had an exam at the end of every school year, if you were not up to standard you had to do that whole year again. Obviously everybody aimed to pass because it would have meant another year at school when you could have left. If we wanted to attend a higher school, i.e a college or other high school we had to pass THEIR exams, you either failed or passed and their was no chance of complaining. But there was also more discipline in school, and we always had plenty of homework. We hardly had time for playing about. Saturday and Sunday yes, but only if everything had been done ready for school on Monday.
