Hi johnalex, I still cannot see the "Shoe" connection. Is there another version in your area? Up north, the final little pig went "whee, whee all the way home".

Could it be from "Three Liitle Pigs"?

I know the Old Lady lived in a shoe ~ when the modern version would make her well off on family allowance and housing benefit!
The whole point of the "This little piggy" rhyme is to tweak each of yourrr wee bairn's little toes as you say each line.
I wonder how many lines the Norfolk version has ...
