Was driving along the road near where roadworks are being done, I was going faster than 30 and trying to get through the lights (which I will never do again), there was a worker crossed the road and went to put the sign back up that had fallen over at the side of the road, I saw him and was going to pass him when he steps out without looking and I had to swerve a bit to miss him. I kept driving as no reason to stop and he was stood in the middle of the road looking really angry. Scared to go the same way to work the next day. Could I have been charged with something?

well I'm just a woman Steve.5 - what the hell do I know about roads?
all being said, you shouldnt be speeding through roadworks, there is always the likely hood that someone ahead may slow abruptly or have to stop. if you did cause an accident as a result of your actions you will realise that nothing is worth trying to race across the lights.

the man should have been aware of the traffic, however if the lights were about to change to red or were on amber then he may have assumed that the traffic would have been stopping therefore he would have felt this was an opportunity to cross.

Harry-Wragg's 'just a thought' happened to my father in law. Many years ago he was involved in a 'cutting up' incident on the way home from work, him being the cut up.

Tempers flared and my husband, in fiery years of youth, kicked the other drivers door, denting it. The lights changed and both drove off.

A couple of days later 2 plain clothes cops came to father in laws house to question him. He said his passenger was a stranger he gave a lift to and he couldn't help.

Nothing more was heard.

well hey, you didn't hit him.. but if you had you would probably have been in the wrong. hopefully he won't step out in front of a car again, and you'll take a bit more care in such circumstances.

sorted!
