Diwali is the Festival of Lights, so Hindus love fireworks for that celebration. October 28th this year, I think.

People use them to celebrate birthdays and anniversaries too.

i heard sum at 4am the other day/night not happy!!
aww poor cat (and you)

There's fireworks going off all year round where I am, not tons of them but you hear a few every week. Our cats dont seem bothered by single ones being set off..probably used to it by now but they get really scared on bonfire night :(
We say the same thing every year, but there have been some changes but not enough, its all do with money and livelyhood!!!
When I lived in Spain fireworks were set off every fiesta and saints' day - very early in the morning.

Hardly a week went past without them
I heard some at 2.30pm yesterday. What was the point of setting them off in broad daylight?!!

I'm not sure they should be sold at all. I live in the middle of a city, people set them off in the streets round here, and last year my boy/f had one chucked under his car whilst he was driving! (luckily he was ok, but it scared the sh*t out of him)

Maybe I'm a party pooper, but I think you should have to have a license to own/use fire works.

i've got drayton manor about 1 mile from me and fireworks are always fun! luckily murphy isn't too bad with them, but i just keep her indoors just i case, we had some local fooking &&%%$^&* tie firecrackers to a cats tale last year so i won't let her out much this time of year.
what i don't get is how do you get enjoyment out of doing something like that????

low life that find fun at the expense of animals should have a banger shoved up there a***

last year some youth were caught on CCTV dropping bangers off ouse bridge (York) onto the sleeping geese/ducks/swans

they were let of with a caution ( Twa*s)
they should of had bangers dropped on their heads
Yip -with Ethel -i seem to be crawling further up her arse but its true -fireworks randomly -morning noon night mainly fiestas but no-on bats an eyelid lukily we go over for the Fiestas and its ace fun.

I am having fireworks on my birthday but I have all the neighbours invited -i happen to like them so would have invited them anyway but im purposely not going to let off too many in the air ones just because it does frightem some people so it will be around 7-8pm for the kids so evryone else will be watching the X Factor anyway (as will all the peeps at my party lol)
