Powerful torch/handheld searchlight

Can anyone refer me to a good, long-lasting, RELIABLE and powerful rechargeable torch or searchlight that I can use on the farm? Most of the torches that I have bought over the years start off well but then tail off dramatically. (I bought an advertised 1million candela torch that lasted a few days with a fantastically bright beam but once I recharged it (and I mean ONCE) the beam was never the same - the charge never seemed to build up to the previous levels and then it eventually would not hold a charge AT ALL.)
What do the police forces/rescue services use? Are those pieces of equipment readily available?

we use one of those long maglights and put rechargeable batteries in it

From past experience they kept their charge well and worked over long distances
