belief in witches, abhorrence of rebellion
Specific right of the Stuarts to be Kings of Scotland (and subsequently, therefore, of England also) by descent (completely imaginary) from Banquo.
Belief in the supernatural.
Not just the witches, but also that if you murdered someone y might be haunted by his ghost...that no one else could see (Banquo for example).
