MM Links Solutions October 2008 [Week 3]

I have just returned from a weekend on the Yorkshire coast (north of Hornsea) and so I am running VERY late. I'll have to work piecemeal and you'll all have to be patient!

However I can announce that the scoring was MUCH better this week as many entrants proved a match for King Ulysses the Valiant, but it has taken you three weeks to pin him down. I shall start with declaring his chosen links based on the theme of Flowering Plants:

This week started very briskly with a superb double whammy from Dinkypuzzled, who scored FOUR POINTS for HORSE RADISH and MONEY SPIDER. No other entrant proved the equal to this impressive performance and so (from the very beginning) I can declare Dinkypuzzled is my HOT SHOT OF THE WEEK.
*** Crowds cheer wildly at this awesome feat ***
*** Let drums roll and trumpets sound ***

The floodgates were now open for any quick-witted, like-minded individuals and there were several. In all, Elspeth, cliffyg, x-ray, miss meg, evsajo & Grenmus each receive well-earned TWO POINTS for spotting one of Dinkypuzzled�s links.

With the clock only on 09.02, in came Entrant #12 in the form of centrino who whispered SWEET NOTHINGS and charmed TWO more POINTS out of the abacus! Scoring still continued to tick over with single hits picking up Single Points for numerous entrants. However, in the midst of these came ex-multiple-champion wickedtongue to pay homage to QUEEN BEE and to keep the honey flowing! This claimed the last Link Word. Nevertheless, there were still seven entrants who went on to score One Point before the game came to a gentle close.

But how does the league stand after three weeks of competition?

After two weeks of famine, we have had one week of plenty (for the lucky ones). However, next week will be the last week in which to determine the Champion for October (who will set the Link Words across the five-week month of November). This week has found King Ulysses the Valiant more than human when he proved predictable. Look out for fireworks next Saturday. Will you ROCKET into the lead or end up a DAMP SQUIB? To find out which, you need to be there!

Wow !
I've just logged on to discover that I'm 'hotshot of the week.'
It just goes to show that lightning can strike twice.
Crofter - I wonder if King Ulysses will be a GUY who plays a FOXY game next week. Or a Halloween theme. WITCH will it be ?

Wow - just come on to check my skills (!) and find I now have two points on both KM and MM. I wonder what that says about me - apart from the fact that I'm useless on all sides!
