I was verbally abused by the husband of my boss in the gents toilet at a party out of work. He abused me for all the hassall my boss gets at work but off other people not me. He used bad langusge and twice threatened to kill me if she came home from work distressed in the future. I did not know this man and I had never met him before. He at no point touched me. There was no one else in the gents at the time and he had had alot of alcohol.

It has left me very distressed and I am now off sick and refuse to go back to work and have demanded to be redeployed to another department. My boss is sorry for what happened and her husband wants to aplogise. I have said I want no contack with my boss and do not want his apology.

Do you think i should report this. I am not concerened that he will cary out his threats, he was just drunk and mouthing off

I get the impression you are using this as an excuse to get a different job, get what you want and get your boss into trouble.

You are not concerned about the threats and your not prepared to accept an appology. As far as you have said she had no knowledge that he was going to or indeed did do it so how can you blame her? She was and probably still is very embarassed about the whole thing and you appear to be blowing it all out of proportion.

Accept the appologies make sure he isn't invited to any other work do and get back to work.

Whoops, sorry.

"It has left me very distressed and I am now off sick and refuse to go back to work"

Where did you mention the death? That's not how it reads.
"refuse to go back to work and have demanded to be redeployed to another department"

refusing and demanding mustve really helped your appeal.

This was your bosses husband, I presume he doesnt work for the company so why do you feel that you can not work for your boss even though she had nothing to do with it?

It is as I said earlier....he has upset her at some point and is passing the buck!!!
So putting in the fact your off sick with stress has nothing to do with the complaint your making then?.

I would class you as a trouble maker and want you moved anyway.

However I think you need to grow up and when you are over the bereavment get back to work.
The swie get him to put somthing in writing of the event mske it like a personal card then when the sod replies take his ass to tribunal that will teach him
Out of order, drunk or not. I'd ask for a written apology, and then you'll always have it in writing if you need to take things further.
Having said that - you mustn't let a few words stress you out to the extent it has. If the man was really threatening, and the allegations untrue - then I think you SHOULD go to a tribunal, and start looking for a job where people aren't quite so volatile.
