haunted work place
31 Answers
hi everyone
i have just found out that the building I work in is haunted. apparently it is built on an old war time air field and is haunted by a RAF man. Odd things do go missing from time to time as well and things get moved,
my friend Nicola suggested we have a sit in till midnight on Halloween but to be honest with you I dont spend a minute longer at work than I need to.
does anyone else work in anyway scary like that.

When things go missing etc reproach spirit to return goods or find them.
I have similar, and we work likewise. Mine, looks out for me, I feel!

I work in a really old building and have things disappear and reappear in strange places and strange things with the lift, like your button being pressed when no-one else is in it.
I don't mind at long as there isn't an ominous kind of presence.
My ex's parents' place was haunted and you could hear footsteps when no-one was upstairs and the dog would go mad at nothing and you'd get a feeling you were being watch.
I'd just have a quiet word that I meant no harm and all that.
The worst one was in an old stately home. 3 of us were in a room in the old servents quarters and I was lying there in the middle of the night when something pushed down really hard on my leg. None of the other girls were anywhere near me, in fact asleep.
We asked one of the guys who looked after the place if it was haunted and he got really funny with us.

wow, thanks for everyones response. it seems to be a fairly common thing.
Terambulan I have given him a name, and will do as you suggest. it was strange a name sprang to my mind straight away.
would the same thing work at home as I feel sometimes there is another presence there but never anything to be scared of. my animals have always been acutely aware of something which I have now got used to altho at first it used to freak me out.
my strongest memory is of waking up one morning to find toast being cooked, such a lovely smell but when I got up there was no one in the kitchen and no toast being cooked.

AFC can you give me a rough idea of where this place is. Quite a few of these RAF places are mentioned in books, a lot of which I have.
I love the a ghost story. I prefer the real ones.
As Shakespear said 'there are more things in heaven and earth than are dreamt of'' and I find it an exciting area to look into.

Had a swift look at the books. Unfortunatly nothing but I did find this.

It does mention Hendon Air field. But not much.
What have you seen and heard there or does the place just make you feel uncomfortable.

me again Tigerlily
I havent seen anything at work, although sometimes you think someone is in a chair and they are not and books and files fall off the shelf when no one is close by.
At the museum I find it very hard to look at some of the planes because I can feel the sorrow and pain. there are an awful lot of cold spots there as well.
Tigerlily I dont know H does he come here much. it would be interesting to talk to him.
thanks Jan

My workplace is meant to be haunted by the spirit of a man who died in the steel works that once existed where my office now stands. I've never seen anything, but some colleagues have.
However, My In-Law's house is definitely haunted. Its' quite an old house, & seems to be haunted by 2 children. My Sister-In-Law's bedroom & the landing are the focal point for most of the activity. I've seen the spirit of a young girl in white standing in the corner of my SIL's room. She herself has seen the girl on numerous occasions, and once the girl even flung open the bedroom door and slammed it shut. Both myself & my husband have seen shadows pass by when we were the only people in the house. My mother in Law has felt someone tap her on the shoulder when she was alone in the house, & sometimes she comes home to find all her wardrobe doors wide open when no-one has been home all day. Myself & a friend of my husband have both seen the ghost of a little boy at the bottom of the stairs too. The scariest thing that ever happened was one evening in winter when it was dark outside and the only people in the house were me and my sister in law. I heard her calling me from her bedroom so went to see what she wanted. Immediately it was like walking into a fridge and she was standing there looking terrified. when i asked what was wrong she told me to listen, and i realised then that i could hear the sound of deep breathing. we went all round the room trying to find a source of the sound, but couldn't find one, but no matter where we stood, the sound seemed to come from right behind us. Then My In-Laws came home, and my mother in law could hear it too, but as soon as my father in law came into the room it stopped. Funnily enough, my sis in law was 17 at the time, she's 24 now and as she's got older the funny goings on have all but stopped. Weird stuff seems to happen more when my nephew & neice (aged 6 & 4) are there.
