I've done the whale watching off the coast north of Durban and it was spectacular. The Drakensburg mountains are scenic, we stayed at Giants Castle. The Battlefields are worth seeing (remember the film Zulu?). Knysna Elephant Park east of George is worth a visit too. Far too much to mention. Maybe you could be more specific?
North coast of South Africa? - there's a novelty - thought that was called 'the Med'.
This country is huge. Every tourist book you read says 'don't try and cover the country in one trip'. Otherwise it is like Americans doing Europe - 'its Wednesday afternoon so we must be in Paris, honey'.
Do either Cape Town and immediate area, or Durban area inc Drakensberg.
