It's only at night when I've gone to bed, he comes and curls up on my bed then does his pawsys (on my arm last night...ouch ouch ouch!!!), purring away then starts sucking the duvet.

I did a google and it says it can be a sign of being upset or scared (comfort thing) but he doesn't seem to be either, just voluntarily cuddled up warm for a nice sleep.

Does anyone else's little monster do this?

my kitten does that and apperently its what they used to do to their mothers so it may be a comfort my kitten does that every night

Many cats do this jenna. I have a friend whose cat sucks its tail before it goes to sleep. I shouldn't think Heathcliffe is scared or upset - he certainly doesn't sound it!

Aww good :)

He doesn't seem upset in the slightest though he's currently eyeballing me with those "if you really loved me mummy, you'd share your toasted teacake with me" look :)
You mean you don't share your toasted teacake jenna?!
My two love them and I have to share else there's no peace to be had from either of them (yes, they are spoiled little madams!)

Awww I feel mean now haha :)

I'm still trying to establish the my food, your food thing, he was being really good but has gone back into scavanger mode last night and tonight.

He's so cute and cheeky with it he just makes me want to laugh but I'm trying to be firm :)
You're right of course - you have to establish boundaries or he will be scrounging all the time. Mine are pretty good - it's just toast and toasted teacakes they can't resist, must be the butter

I think so, I finished a pack of butter last night so let him have a quick lick of the residue of the empty packet, after the butter on paws suggestion when I let him out to see if he liked it, and he was loving it :)

Am reading up on some cat behaviour on the net and seems to indicate he's a very happy chappy :)
