I am looking for a decent (clean and friendly, nothing fancy required) hotel in a central location in Bangkok in November , having never been before I am finding it difficult to know which area to book to be central for eating out, shopping and partying! I would like it to be reasonably priced (about 50-80 for 2 nights) can anyone help!?

Thanks

Never book a hotel without reading tripadvisor is AuntieBerties motto! For area I really like Sukhumvit - good street with loads of restaurants and market stalls and easy access to the skytrain. I have stayed in Landmark or Amari Boulevard (this is the cheaper one)
Have a look at http://www.uknetguide.co.uk/Travel/Hotel-Deals /Bangkok/
