Napisan

Anyone know which stores sell the product Napisan ? I have a job finding it in all the usual supermarkets. Is there a similar product available? Thanks in anticipation !!

When my older sister was born in the mid 1960s the hospital gave my late mother one of those baby books that gave information on caring for a new baby. The books also had advertisements inclduing one for Napisan. Anyway to cut a long story short I doubt that they make Napisan anymore. I thought that they stopped making it back in the 1960s or 1970s unless I am mistaken.

I remember watching an episode of Prisoner: Cell Block H where there was a box of Napisan in one of the laundry scences. Thought I would share that pointless bit of information here!

Most major supermarket chains still sell napisan, my wife uses it for getting stains out of napkins

I too have noticed the disappearance of Napisan from supermarket shelves. Usual source was Sainsburys. I use it for whites (just add a bit to the wash powder) and all towels (coloured ones, home ones and sports and swimming ones) as have teenage kids and feel a bit of an antibacterial boost in the wash is often called for. If we pester Sainsburys enough they may put it back on shelves. It was often sold out so it can't be due to no demand. Maybe a manufacturing/supply problem.

I also found the same problem with my local Sainsbury's which I found really strange because it was always popular and went very quickly. When questioned (I think just before Christmas) they admitted that they'd had quite a few queries about it but it would take up to 8 weeks to re-stock - which I have not yet seen. The manufacturer is Reckitt Benckiser Plc, and I think a friends husband works for them, so I may try find out if there is any problems with it. I hope not as I swear by it, even though I have no kids! Was introduced to it by a friend, who does have children, as a god send and dermalogically better way at getting rid of stains!

I know this thread is 6 months old, but Napisan is available in Tesco...about �1.70 a box....in the baby aisle.

for the past few years i've been able to buy napisan in tesco but lately it has been taken from the shelf. I was still able to get at my local chemist . ask your chemist to see if they order it for you.

Hi Most 'BOOTS' BUT You must ASK at the Pharmacy counter they will order it in for you within 24 hrs you will have to prepay the �1.49.cost of the item It appears there is a restriction on general distribution so it is getting very difficult to find
